Panoramic prints of London. Perfect for offices.

There have been many times over the years where I’ve gone out to make a print of a view or piece of architecture and when I come back to my studio to find that not only have I got some good colour and black and white prints but I’ve also got some great panoramics. The shape is perfect for a large wall and excellent for stand alone pieces. I talk about panoramics quite a lot in my blog.

I was asked to produce a set of prints for The London Mayor’s office. The promotion was called ‘Visit London”. The brief was to show how many similarities there were between London and other world cities. One example was the similarity between little beaches that form on the Thames when the tide is out with a beach in Sydney. Well, OK, that’s pushing it a bit but you get the drift. Another was the similarity between the hustle and bustle of New York with the chaos of London. They didn’t take the image below but I love it as a panoramic. You can see it here.

The shape of a panoramic allows lovely simple images room to breath which you sometimes don’t manage to get with a conventional landscape shape. This shape is often perfect for offices because you can fill a large wall space. The print of Big Ben below and the wisps of cloud was an image I took while on a commission photographing the Harrods electric vehicle in Parliament square.

Often Panoramic images just happen. While taking headshot photographs for a bunch of bankers at the O2 in London I took the print below on my way back home. This print now hangs on the boardroom of the bank in Greenwich. You can see the full set of Londondon panoramic prints here. These prints framed are 52” wide so they’re big and great for large spaces.
